Rang 5 end of term report December 2015 By; Molly, Isabel, Laoise and Victor
We’ve had a great first term in Rang 5 .
At the start of September we got four new students to join our class. They are Cosmin from Romania, Ignatio from Spain, Isabel and Oisín from Dublin. We are delighted to have them in our class this year!
Our first class trip was to visit the Mosque in Clonskeagh. It was our first time to go inside a mosque and we thought it was very interesting. We played handball with the pupils from sixth class in the Muslim school which is attached to the mosque. We had a lot of fun!
Dressing up for Hallowe’en was the usual great fun. For the first year, we paraded around Ranelagh and made everybody smile!
We did clay work during art this term and we also really like learning about long division ! We enjoyed the science experiments too!
Eamon Dunphy visiting us and left us with inspiring words; his school days were the best! Our past teacher Mr. Mc Ginley also visited us and brought sweets! Our final visitors were the Gardaí who set us challenges! We of course met them in record time!
It’s lucky for us that we can easily walk to Rathmines as Ms. Ormiston took us to the Omniplex cinema to see the movie Malala which is the true story about a young girl who stands up for educating girls in Afghanistan. We have read a book about her life and are writing letters to her to congratulate her on her bravery.
We’re having a good time with our teacher Ms. Ormiston . Last week she brought us to visit Saint Patrick’s Cathedral AND Beauty and the Beast, all in the one day ! She even gave us a night off homework that day!
Our Christmas concert this year is about New Year traditions around the world.
We have quite a few countries represented in our class so we were able to find out firsthand about many countries traditions. We would like to wish you all
