This term we returned after the Christmas break renewed and ready to work!
We began by learning all about the community we live in, and our roles in the community. This was a very interactive project as parents were invited in to talk about their occupations.Thank you to all who were involved.
We investigated water a lot early in the term. We conducted floating and sinking experiments, visited the Grand Canal to sketch, learned all about the water cycle, learned all about capacity in maths and even made rainclouds!
The paired reading project with Rang 4 in February was a huge success. We love reading in Rang 1 already, so we really enjoyed reading in a new and social way. Thank you Miss Nealon and Rang 4. We also took a trip to Rathmines Library where Eoin gave us a tour and a little chat about the library.
Our class tour this term was to visit The National Leprechaun museum. This was great as we had been learning all the Irish Myths and Legends so we knew what to expect. I didn't know we would shrink though!
Bhí am íontach againn sa scoil i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí na páistí go léir ag déanamh an-iarracht ag caint timpeall na scoile. Bhí an canadh, an damhsa agus na h-imeachtaí sa scoil ar fheabhas. Rinne rang 1 T-léinte áille agus tá an Gaeilge go hiontach sa Rang seo. Bígí ag usáíd an teanga sa bhaile freisin!
We finished this term by examining patterns around us in nature, man-made patterns and especially the patterns that are found in maths. Our tables have been improving all the time and this will be a great help in the future, so keep practicing Rang 1.
Thank you to all our class guests this term, and to those who joined us on our class trips. Hope you all have an enjoyable and restful break.
