Dia dhuit!
I rith seachtain na gaeilge scríobh rang a dó frásaí (phrases) ar a t-léine. Chanamar Ireland’s Call, Is Róbait sinn, Amhrán na bhfiann agus Trasna na dtonnta, le cheile.
This term we started Forest school and we learned how to use a bow saw. We all cut a disc of wood to make an id necklace. One of the days our parents came along. They helped one group to make dens. The other group played the animal memory game which we had also learned to play which was so much fun.We had six weeks of Forest school altogether and we will really miss it next term.
After Christmas we all got a user id, password and school id for a maths website from Ms Brennan. It is called Mangahigh and we think it is good for learning about new maths topics.
We still go to swimming lessons weekly and our teachers say that we are really improving. We went to the Ark to see a play called Far Away From Me. There were some really good acrobats who performed above the stage a lot . We really enjoyed the trip.
One of the topics we enjoyed most of all this term was learning about the Titanic. We painted pictures showing how it would have looked either during the day or night. In Forest School we built shelters for both ourselves and tiny ones for fairies to live in!
We have a “friendship wall” in our classroom where we stuck up words and comments about friendship. We talked a lot about how to be a good friend and ways to solve problems between friends.
Kitty told the class all about the Vietnamese New Year, using slides. We did a great story in Drama each week about a family of giants who wanted to move into a village. They had to persuade the villagers there to let them move in. We all took a part as villagers doing different jobs and Ms Brennan was the mayor sometimes.
We were very excited on the morning of the solar eclipse because we turned off all the lights in the room and watched it get darker and darker as it got close to 9.30am. Although we used solar glasses to try spot the eclipse we weren’t lucky as it was too cloudy.
We are really looking forward to the Easter holidays and hope you have a good one! Happy Easter from Rang a Dó!
