4th class News Report Term 1 2014

Our teacher’s name is Ms. Neylon. We have done lots of hard work in Rang 4 this term and had some fun too!  Ms. Halpin Duffy came in November, she was a trainee teacher. We learned about the Children of Lir in History, and we also did a project on the Ancient Greeks. We went to the Science gallery organised by Maia’s dad. The exhibition was called “Strange Weather”. Our favourite things were the bubble clouds, the weather report and the tornado replica. We also did sound experiments in class.

Ms. Halpin Duffy took us to Milano’s!!! We made pizzas. We were taught about Judaism in class. We made cookies for the festival of Purim. Two Jewish people visited and we learned about Bar Mitzvah. They taught us how to write our names in Hebrew. We learned all about Australia, also with Ms. Halpin Duffy! We tasted vegemite which was interesting. We made musical instruments with aboriginal designs.

We went around the school to ask every class their favourite pet for Data in maths. We had our parent teacher meetings in November. Katie and John made gingerbread houses. They liked making them and they put chocolate fingers and sweets on them, yum yum!!

R4PH4

We filled 3 marble jars in class and got a night off homework! Ms. Farley organises a lucky dip every Friday for those who are good buddies in yard.
We brought in goods for Focus Ireland and Crumlin Children Hospital. We are practising really hard for the Christmas play. Our topic is the Cherry Blossom Festival or Hanami as they say in Japan. We are learning 3 songs. They are called Sakura, Haru Ga Kita and Must Be Santa. On the 30th of November the school fair was held. The school earned loads of money.
We are looking forward to Term 2.
