We've had a great term here in Rang 5.  It's been filled full of both fun and learning!
One day in science, we did the egg drop challenge.  We were split into teams and had to use a certain amount of materials to make sure when we dropped the egg, it survived.  Mr. Yolk, Ms. Boiled, Mr. Scrambled and Eggbert survived but sadly the others did not make it.

We watched and read Under the Hawthorn tree by Marita Conlon Mc Kenna, a book based in the famine times.
In early February, we walked over to the Jeanie Johnson famine ship and we all felt a little dizzy but still managed to listen well. We had to sit beside these scary manikins but we learned all about the journey from Ireland to America in the 1840's.
We met ER Murray on the 11th February in Rathmines library.  We listened to her read an extract from her book and she told us about the journey that book took from idea to finished published product.
On the last day before February mid term, we had pyjama day!  We worked together to get 25 marbles and earned it.
We had great fun - danced and played dodge ball in our Pjs!

Ignacio's Mum Begoña came in to chat to us about being a writer.  She gave us lots of tips to help us with write a book!
World book day was on 3rd March and thanks to parents in our class, we had a great choice of new as well as pre-loved books.
We read and shared our favourite books in class.
