Dia daoibh ó rang a trí. Tá téarma a h1 buailte linn anois.
We have had a great time in rang a trí so far. Here are some of the things we have been up to:
This year was our last year doing forest schools. We are sad that it’s over but we really enjoyed it. In the forest we used tools, we designed and built rafts and told and acted out stories.
We have been working very hard this year. We have been in ‘Ms. O’Dowd’s Crowd’ and the ‘Main Swain’ maths groups and learned about division and multiplication for the first time.
We met Sensei Keating the black belt martial artist and he taught us some Karate. We developed our GAA skills playing GAA with Simon.
This is our first year in the senior end of the school and we have had representatives on the Green Schools’ committee and the Student Council. Our class has played an active role in dealing with Green School issues. The environmentalist Tom Griffiths came in and talked with us about climate change and how we can make a difference. We also documented the walkability of Ranelagh with Ally from Green Schools.
We were sad to say goodbye to Ms. Whelan but are happy to have a new wonderful principal, Ms. Stynes.
It’s been a busy term and we’ve learned about the great Irish explorer Tom Crean, found inspiration from great artists, enjoyed poetry and we’ve always tried our best.
We have worked hard and are all looking forward to a well deserved break! We hope Santa comes because we’ve all been very good!
