From the Principal’s Desk….

Anyone who did the drop off this morning may have gotten to hear and see our choir singing in preparation for the fair this weekend. I received several requests to have them sing every morning. I thoroughly agree and I passed on the message to the choir organisers to see if it could happen, just in case it can’t - the Fair this Sunday will give you the best chance to come see and hear them in action.

The darkness in the mornings this week have made all the bright lights on trees and in houses so much more inviting and it is no wonder that people have been celebrating like this for so many thousands of years. The classes have been looking at festivals all over the world and the school is buzzing with excited energy as the classes all prepare for your visit to their classrooms, where they will get to tell you about them. A reminder of the times for their performances are

8.50 a.m. 9.30 a.m.

Tuesday, 12th December  Junior Infants  Rang 6

Wednesday, 13th December  Senior Infants  Rang 5

Thursday, 14th December  Rang 1  Rang 4

Friday, 15th December  Rang 2  Rang 3

The only classroom where I haven’t heard any singing from, is the busiest room in the school this week. Rang 6 elves have been busily working on their business initiatives. The children have divided themselves into different businesses and are learning how difficult it can be to set up a business and how much work it takes to be an entrepreneur. You can see and support them as they run their businesses at the fair this Sunday.

The Fair has such a wonderful sense of community and I want to thank all of you who do your part to make that happen even if that is just being there and sharing in and creating that sense of community.

Have a lovely weekend and I’ll see you on Sunday.

Do you have...

Our school drum kit has been getting more and more use recently. With use and moving around the school we are also noticing that some bits are missing or are just missing. If you happen to have a high hat or a base foot pedal and it isn’t getting much use in your house we could offer them a new home.
