From the Principal’s Desk….

We had a really uplifting whole school assembly this morning led by Rang 4 on “Our Values”. We spoke about what our values here at RMDS are - Kindness, Empathy, Honesty, Courage, Gratitude, Resilience,  Determination, Respect, Integrity and Generosity. This is very apt at a time when these values - and how they guide our lives and our decisions, have perhaps never been more important. The children did fabulous artwork representing each value and we talked about how these values are lived out in our lives.

Thank you to everyone for making such a great effort to attend Parent/Teacher meetings. We hope that you have found them useful. Please send any comments/ suggestions/ feedback that you might have for next year using our Google Form. We really do value this opportunity to sit down with you and talk about your child’s experience here in RMDS, so your responses will be considered in making arrangements for future meetings.

     PA Co-Chairs

From the Student Council….

On Tuesday, Co-chairs of the Student Council Ella Hewston and Charles Figgis attended the 2023 Dublin City Comhairle na nÓg Annual Youth Conference in the Round Room at the Mansion House.

During the event many young people from both primary and post-primary schools gathered to discuss issues pertaining to the society of today from the perspective of a young person. Many issues were discussed, like period stigma, substance abuse, homelessness and issues that people with disabilities might encounter. The issue which will be addressed for the coming year, and voted for democratically was substance abuse

The whole experience was really interesting and educational for the Co-Chairs and they would be pleased to do it again.
