SCHOOL NEWS in Brief…..

25th May 2017

From the Principal’s desk:

Well done to the children from Rang 6 and Rang 5 who together with the help of their teachers, and in particular Mr. Fairbrother, put together a fantastic show – the RMDS premiére of Wicked! The team work, effort, imagination and enthusiasm that went into the show was incredible. All the children from Junior Infants – Rang 4  enjoyed the show today with parents from Rang 6 and Rang 5 in for a special treat tomorrow. The musical kicks off at 9.15am!

Congratulations to all the pupils who represented the school at the Primary School Athletics competitions in Santry yesterday.  We were delighted with the performance of all the children, their attitude to the competition and their sense of sportsmanship. We look forward to celebrating with all our sporting stars before the end of term.  Thank you to Mr. Mulholland and Mr. Perera who trained hard with the children in the upcoming weeks.

School will be closed for Junior Infants on Friday 2nd June as we are holding the reception morning for incoming infants.

Please ensure to lock your bikes each morning - even those inside the school gate. Bikes can also be left safely locked to the racks outside the back gate.

There will be no choir tomorrow morning. However, choir will resume as normal next week.

Please check for lost property at the gate in the morning. All items left at the weekend will be donated to charity.

Cumann na mBunscoil Primary Schools Athletics

RMDS were excellently represented at this year's Cumann na mBunscoil’s Santry Sports annual primary schools athletics event. Our team supported each other and raced as fast as they could for as long as they could!

We had 8 teams taking part in the 4x100m relays and 8 children running 100m sprints.

Our Under 11 Girls and Under 10 Boys got into their respective finals.

As for silverware it was our girls who brought back the medals:

Evan, Lola (Birthday Girl), Lenna, Clara (recovering from a nasty fall in the sprint) and Juliette (Birthday Girl) won Silver in the Under 10 girls relay.

Molly, Laoise, Clara, Aoife and Ruth won Silver in the Under 14 girls relay.

Aoife Clark ran excellently well and held off stiff competition to win Gold in the Under 14 100m sprint.

Congratulations to all!
