SCHOOL NEWS in Brief…..

26th September 2019

From the Principal’s desk:

Class meetings have now concluded. Thank you all for your attendance over the last few weeks. All summary notes will be circulated by email by the weekend.

Please note that our school class photos will take place on Wednesday, 2nd October.

We say a fond farewell to Joe in Senior Infants and wish him the very best as he joins his sister in his new school.

Please check for lost property at the gate in the morning. There is a quite a large build up at the minute! All items left at the weekend will be donated to charity.

From the BOM:

A huge thank you from the Board to the parent body for all the support in ensuring RMDS reached our target for Voluntary Contributions last year, with €41,650 donated. Thanks are also due to the PA for all its work on fundraising. Fundraising and VCs are vital to the running of the school and much appreciated. With this support, were able to do significant expensive (but much-needed as you can see from the photos!) repairs on the roof over the summer, and also continue to invest in IT.

Thanks also to the school community for helping us purchase the defibrillator for RMDS. We’d like to acknowledge the generous contributions from last year’s Rang 6 parents, the PA, Mount Pleasant LTC, and Childcare.

We’d like to welcome you all to the new school year at RMDS, with a particularly big welcome for our new Junior Infants!

From the PA:

RMDS Parents' Quiz Night – Thursday, 17th October, 8pm

New venue booked!!!  Corrigan's Mt Pleasant Inn are delighted to welcome us this year.

As always, there'll be teams of 4; each team represents a class and winning teams get cash prizes for their class. It's always a fun night so start organising your teams and swotting up 😊  Tickets on sale the week beginning Monday 14th October.

There'll be a raffle on the night and if anyone would like to donate a raffle prize, we'd really appreciate it.  Contact Rachel or Oscar, your class rep, or e-mail pa@rmds.ie.
