We have had a great first term in Rang a Dó. We started the year off with our assembly all about the values that make RMDS so special. We wrote a poem and performed 'Keep on Movin' by Five. We also started to work on our frásaí Gaeilge diaries which we practise at home and in school.

In October, we really enjoyed planting bulbs in Linear Park and started our experiment with spider plant propagation. We are observing how well the offshoots grow when all their needs are met vs. when water/light/soil are removed. We even sing a song to one of the plants every day to show it some extra love! We also worked together to write beautiful Autumn poems inspired by our five senses.

In November we got really into weaving, learning how to braid using the 'fill the gap' method. We also made woolen pom-pom animals which we just love! We have been working super hard on our mathematics and had great fun working together to solve some pretty advanced challenges.

Now we are super excited for the Winter Concert and have been practising our ocarina skills every day. The ocarina is a wind instrument which is believed to  have been played all over the world for as long as 12,000 years. We have also been learning about Chinese new year and are excited to ring in the year of the dragon in 2024.

Le grá,

Rang a dó
