We visited the Print Museum on World Book Day and had great fun. We made printer’s hats out of paper and we made “Wanted” posters. We looked at the first printing machine and a few other printers. Before we went on the tour we had a book swap in the school and had some yummy treats. At the end of the day we got World Book Day tokens.
We each wrote a great book for the “Write a Book” competition. We wrote our first draft and then we typed it and redrafted it again. We look forward to seeing who the winner of the competition is.
We did paired reading with First class and we were very impressed with Rang 1. They are all superb readers and we are sad that it had to end.
The football World Cup was a success. Many teams were very close to winning but Mexico were the ones who walked home with the gold medals and the trophy. It was a close final between Sweden and Mexico which ended with 2-1 to Mexico. Well done Mexico!
Together we are reading the novel ‘Holes’. It is a gripping story written by Louis Sachar. We would really recommend it so far.
Ms. Neylon split us into groups to do projects on Endangered Species. We learnt a lot about WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and endangered species. The projects ranged from turtles to pandas. We enjoyed making and looking at the projects.
Our library committee (Amelia Aidan Ruth) did a survey on the class library and took in the ideas of all pupils in Rang 4. Lots of people donated books so that everyone could have a better choice when selecting a book. So well done everybody you did a great job.
The Green Schools committee set up a competition where we had to make water posters. The theme was “Water from a cloud to your glass” and they were mind blowing. We also learned about the water cycle in Geography.
We all tried Double Dutch skipping on our movement break and all succeeded and wow we were amazing!
Many girls and boys tried out for Santry Trials. Wow, we have some Usain Bolts in our class so many got in. They will be training soon so good luck to them!
The Solar Eclipse was on March 20th (a Friday). Unfortunately it was too cloudy for us to see. But we noticed it got dark around 9:28am.
We did tables speed tests where we set a timer to 1min or more and you were to set your own time target and do as many tables as you could. Some people did it in a very fast time.
In art we did half and half caricatures. Ms. Neylon took photos of us and we had to draw the other half but with some funny effects. We also did etchings of the animals we did our projects on. It was fun!
Every one of us wrote stories about an Inuit hunting trip. It was to practise for our write a book .There was some good stories. Well done everybody!

In SPHE we all talked together about the things we like and don’t like about yard and park. We practiced some yard games and sports in PE. We are still doing indoor sports on Monday Wednesday and Friday. We are split into different groups. The fun is endless.
Here in Rang 4 we are still filling up our marble jars. When we are good we get to colour in a marble. There are 50 marbles in a jar and when we fill the jar we get golden time, extra yard, less homework, some free time on the roof garden. When we fill three marble jars we get no homework!!! YAY
