Dia dhaoibh ó Rang a hAon.

We have had a super busy term in Rang a hAon . Here are some of the things we have been up to:

We have delved deeper into the wonderful world of Roald Dahl as we have journeyed through his chocolate factory. We even got to act out and draw our favourite parts of the book. Reading with our reading buddies in Rang a Ceathar was so much fun and we got to move up to Rang a Ceathar and read in their room with Ms. Nealon. They were all so friendly and helped us so much with our reading. We want to say a big thank you to all the mums and dads who read with us also this term, we really appreciate it.

Maths was loads of fun this term as we were exploring 3D shapes in school and at home. We found lots of fun and interesting shapes in our kitchens and we made some of our own personalised 3d shaped out of clay in class. We got to make interesting patterns in class using all different colours and shapes that was loads of fun.

Seo Fáiseanta

Bhí ár ngaeilge ag dul o néart go néart an téarma seo. Ghlacamar páirt i Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhaineamar taitneamh as an ocáid seo. Bhí céile againn agus Seo Fáiseanta againn freisin. Bhi gach páiste ag caint as Gaeilge agus ag déanamh ár ndícheall chun feabhas a chur ar ár nGaeilge.

Exploring our new green area

We were so lucky to have Simon again with us this term to help us improve our G.A.A. skills, we are getting really good at short passes and hand passes now. We may make the Dublin team yet! Physical Education has also been very busy as we learned all about dolly rolls and pencil rolls and made fantastic gymnastic sequences to show the whole class. We were lucky enough to have a morning session on the climbing frame where we cheered on our friends and worked really well as a team.

Our investigation skills were at play a lot this term as we carried out research into the jobs people have in our local community. We also researched the occupations people had in our country 100 years ago, some of them were very different. Learning about tailors was really fun, imagine having to wait a week for new clothes to be ready! Designing our 1916 costume was really cool too.

Investigating the signs of spring in the school garden.

The colours of the rainbow featured a lot in our art this term with our rainbow display. We continued on using various colours of the rainbow to depict our spring scene. After going on a Spring walk in the yard and looking at the signs of Spring around.  This was loads of fun as we had to pick the colours most suitable to Spring. We learned some leprechaun chants and some very important Irish songs to sing on Proclamation day.

Our beautiful rainbow display

We learned about all the amazing vibrant festivals that take place around the world and we explored the meaning behind these festivals. We were lucky enough to explore the Irish festival St. Patrick’s.

Team work has been a main learning point for us all in Rang a hAon this term, so we would like to thank everyone who has helped us develop these team work skills. Ní neart go chur le céile!

Rang a hAon went to the Leprechaun Museum with Lee, Barry and Elaine
